Some good examples might be:
- "My great-grandfather was named Friedrich Dietrich Hohenhausen. He was born in Dingstadt, Bavaria on May 17, 1879. He married Maria Louise Hosenlosen there on September 21, 1900. My grandfather, Erich Klaus Hohenhausen, was born there in June 1901."
- "I know my great-aunt, Margaret Fredericka Stahlkopf, was baptized in Geringsdorf (near Hannover) on February 11, 1899 and confirmed on April 12, 1913 in the same church. It is written in our family Bible that way. She was Catholic; he was not."
Some bad examples might be:
- "My grandfather was a shoe-maker in Germany. He married my grandmother when she was just 16."
- "I think my grandfather's first name was Paul. My mother always said he had a lot of money buried under a tree near where they lived in Frankfurt."
